Rival Versaware SC7500 4.7 Litre Crock Pot/Slow Cooker unlike the heavier stoneware crocks found in many slow cookers, this one is made of lightweight Extreme Temperature Cookware (ETC), also called VersaWare, a stoneware so versatile it can be used on a stovetop, in an oven, under a broiler, and in a microwave.
The lid is also made of ETC, which makes this pot ideal for storing pre-assembled foods in the freezer or refrigerator, and baking covered dishes in the oven.
Of course, the round crock also sits in the slow-cooker base, an unusual cradle design featuring four metal legs with rubber feet.
A single knob sets the cooker at low, high, and keep warm, a convenient setting for maintaining food at just the right serving temperature.
On the two cook settings, low and high, the pot can slow-cook a wide variety of stews, roasts, and soups, recipes for which are printed in an included 79-page recipe booklet.
Meat can be braised first on the stovetop, and casseroles can be browned under the broiler just before serving.
